CHills Nature Club
Welcome to the CHills Nature Club!
This group is for people who would like to help survey and monitor the wildlife habitats and ecology here at Chesterblade Hills. This will help and assist the Somerset Wildlife Trust recommended specialist species and habitat groups that already come here. These expert groups can be found here:
Our members use the iNaturalist app to record what they find. This is a simple to use and educational tool to help identify plants and animals: https://www.inaturalist.org/
The survey data recorded on iNaturalist then gets uploaded to the Somerset Environment Record Centre to help us learn what species we have here and how best to manage it.
Through the year, there will be a series of bio blitz days where CHills Nature Club members can come together to survey the land. There will also be walks and talks with experts to help us all learn about the habitats and species, and opportunities to come under your own steam to walk the land, survey and enjoy the landscape.
